Year 11 students at Churston Ferrers Grammar School have enjoyed fantastic success in their GCSEs this year. Individual stories behind these results were inspiring and academic standards were outstanding – with 77% of grades achieved at 6 or above.
Among those celebrating the results of their hard work, Molly Finch and Archie Willcocks achieved grade 9s in 10 or more subjects. Whilst Alice Brown, Amy Dunn-Shaw, Karma Kagawa, Romini Oxenbury, Willow Sentance, Lucy Toms and Leo Turner all achieved 8 or more grade 9s, including for some, Further Maths GCSE.
Head of Year, Gemma Longhurst said, “We are tremendously proud of all of our Year 11 students, and what they have achieved. These students demonstrated incredible tenacity and resilience during the COVID pandemic in the early years of their secondary education and it has been wonderful to see them justly rewarded for their endeavours with such fantastic GCSE outcomes. The dedicated staff at Churston have supported this cohort throughout their educational journey with us and also deserve significant recognition for all that they have done in the personal and academic development of our students.”
