A sense of theatre
If you enjoy Drama, there’s plenty going on outside lessons. The biggest event is the school play just before either Christmas or Easter. We always pick a production that has enough parts to go round everyone, from lead roles to chorus. Students who want to join in and don’t want to be on stage help out with set painting, make-up, stage management, music and technical support.
There are Drama clubs for the lower school, and from Year 10 upwards we run regular theatre trips, some of which are also open to younger students.
Students from all years also have the option of signing up to LAMDA Drama lessons. This is a chance to take exams in Drama from grades 1 to 8. Marks from the top three grades (known as bronze, silver and gold) will also earn you UCAS points.
