Max Raises £200 for Charity
Max Renton in Year 8 has been tirelessly raising money for charity. He recently shaved his head in aid of Cancer Research and collected over £200. He is even planning his next fundraising event – a cycle ride on Dartmoor for the Rowcroft Hospice.
Jaimee Wins at Great British Transplant Games
Jaimee Wins at Great British Transplant Games Jaimee Luscombe in Year 9 recently achieved some great successes at the Great British Transplant Games. She competed and won a silver medal in long jump and a gold in the 3km time trial.
Joel represents the South of England at wheelchair basketball… and wins!
Joel Clifton in Year 9 recently represented the South of England at wheelchair basketball and his team won the British Championships. The event was called ‘The Lord Taverner U15s Regional Championships’ and it was held at the Worcester University arena in August.

Churston Student Represents the West of England
Dominic Sloper, Year 9 student at CFGS, was selected to represent the West of England at the 2018 Junior Inter-Regional Regatta in Nottingham on Saturday 21st April.
Chemistry Olympiad
Churston students have achieved great success in the national Chemistry Olympiad competition this year. Organised by the Royal Society of Chemistry, this is a challenge open to the top A-level Chemistry students in the UK.
Jessica Jobson attends RYA National Championships
Year 11 student Jessica Jobson, recently attended the RYA Youth National 2018l championships in Largs, Scotland. She sailed amazingly well, in extreme conditions coming sixth overall with a silver medal as second female team in the 29er skiff.
‘Aspirations Presentation’
On 9th March 2018, Churston was lucky enough to have four ex students visit the school to present to a group of year 9 boys. The purpose of the visit was for the alumni to share their experiences of school and offer revision and careers advice.
