Churston students attended the 79th Torbay and Southwest Festival at the Palace Theatre in Paignton and were all placed very highly.
Churston Student To Represent Great Britain
Tom Nuttal in Year 12 has been selected to represent Great Britain at the 2019 World Age Group Underwater Hockey Championships. This is an amazing opportunity for Tom after more than 18 months of intensive training.
Year 11, completes skydive for charity
Georgia Smerdon in Year 11 completed a skydive this month raising money in aid of the Royal British Legion. Georgia jumped from 15000ft and has currently raised over £650.00.

The Easter edition of our Careers Newsletter is now available online! During the Spring Term, our Year 8 and 11 students have been making important decisions about their future academic and career pathways and our Year 12 students have started to explore their post-18 options.
Erasmus Visit
Churston is pleased to welcome its Erasmus+ project partners form Norway, Portugal and Germany. During the six day conference staff and students are working on a joint two year project based around renewable energy. ‘ Could the lights go off across Europe’ a cooperation to shape a renewable vision for Europe by 2050.
England Under 15 boys Basketball team
Fergus Caskey-Sutton, Year 10, has been selected to play for the England Under 15 boys Basketball team. Fergus will join the squad in an Easter training camp in Manchester and is aiming for tournaments in Paris and Copenhagen later in the year.
Year 12 Photography Exhibition
Our Year 12 Photography students have just finished working on a community funded lottery project with St Mary’s Church in Brixham. Their photography will form part of ‘The Cowtown Exhibition’ at St Mary’s Church on Saturday 23rd March
Churston wins at the MADE project
The MADE project is a Torbay wide project where secondary schools are partnered with a local high tech company. The company, for CFGS this year it is Spirent Communications, who design and manufacture GNSS testing equipment, act as a client and provide feedback on the design and make task undertaken by the students.
Chemistry Success for Year 12 Students
Churston students recently placed 2nd in the South-West of England in a competition run by the Royal Society of Chemistry.
Visited to the Theatre Royal in Plymouth
Year 9, 10 and 11 GCSE Drama students visited the Theatre Royal in Plymouth to watch Matilda the Musical.
